Turkey invited pakistan to take part in it's fifth generation fighter jet development project8/25/2016 Reports have emerged after an interview with Pakistan’s Minister of Defence Production (MoDP) Rana Tanveer Hussain has revealed that Turkey has invited Pakistan to help Turkey work on the integration of it's new fifth generation fighter. Turkey and Pakistan have a long history of friendship and also a strong strategic partnership. Turkey has constantly been providing Pakistan with mid-life upgrades to it's F-16 fleet with MLU (Mid-Life Update) modification kits and Falcon Star Structural Service Life Enhancement kits manufactured by Turkish Aerospace Industries. The MLU package contains a new APG-69v9 radars, Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing Systems and Link-16 data-links, including new electronic warfare suite and a new system computer . Although it isn't clear whether Pakistan would go for this program as it has already stated that it is looking towards the procurement of 40-50 Shenyang J-31 a fifth generation fighter made for export by AVIC. If Pakistan decides to pursue the TFX program it would surely get a good exposure to western technology and better manufacturing methods not that the Chinese technology is outdated it's just western technology seems to have an edge. The decision rests in Pakistan courts with two very mouth watering offers it would be quite interesting to see which aircraft Pakistan goes for.
