India and Russia are planning to sign a contract for the repairing of Mi-26 heavy lift helicopters used by the Indian Air Force. The contract signing is to take place before the year end according to this report by TASS stating that three helicopters are to be repaired. With the recent signing of a $300 dollar deal with Russia for the overhauling and upgrading of the Ka-28 helicopters in service with the Indian Navy. With bad after sales service by the Russian OEM's India has decided to either coax the manufacturers to provide better service or is looking towards western manufacturers for expensive products with better maintenance network and solutions.
