A letter of intent has been signed between the American defense contractor Raytheon and in-house contractor Tata Power for the Joint production and exploring co-development of the Javelin anti-armor system According to an article by Economic Times A letter or intent has been signed between the two to develop a strategy for the production and joint R&D. Tata Power operates through the Strategic Engineering Division of Tata. A name synonymous for developing key technology and equipment for India's Nuclear submarine program and missile program. The Javelin missile is being used by 15 foreign defense forces around the world and has seen successful combat usage. The Javelin is one of the most lethal Anti-armor missile and one of the most deadly systems to be used in combat. It lost out to Israeli Spike system for an order for 321 launchers, 8,356 missiles, 15 training simulators, and peripheral equipment to equip it's infantry battalions for anti-armor operations.
